Personal problems?
Sometimes psychotherapy works.
Psychotherapeutic-Counselling takes place when an outsider listens sympathetically to an individual talking about his problems.
Putting his problems into words can have three effects:
One - the individual gets relief in unburdening himself.
Two - the individual sees a way forward.
Three - the counsellor notes areas where the individual could
be trapped in his thinking.
Typically a full-time counsellor will see forty or more clients in a week and have perhaps two hundred names on his register. With such a large group one has to ask how a counsellor could establish a sympathetic relationship with each individual let alone remember their history. In my view it is not possible.
For this reason I earn my living elsewhere and limit my counselling to a few clients. With this small number I have time to mull over their situations and for the client to feel, and rightly, that I have his or her interest at heart.
Counselling sessions can take place through the medium of: e-mail, letter, telephone or face-to-face encounter - or a mix of these. My research work necessitates commuting between Oxford and Swansea so I can see clients in either area or at points en route. But most clients have preferred to communicate by letter, e-mail or phone- at least in the early stages.
If you think I can be of help e-mail me at:

Enclose a few personal details.
If I believe I can be of use I will reply suggesting how we might proceed.
